No, we have not just had an urge to learn marketing skills (shudder). However, as a bit of nerdy fun, here are two charts about our visitors over the past year. Work just made it into first place by number of nights because of a few long stays, most notably by the guys who stayed a month to do up a flat nearby. That notwithstanding, the highest number of visits was from people coming for family reasons, usually grandparents visiting new grandchildren living on Telegraph Hill. Holidays and parties were not surprising motivations, but we were a little intrigued by the number of musicians who visited: a few came because of proximity to Goldsmiths and the others came because their friends live here: the Hill is a very musical place...
Looking at the countries of origin, the mix turned out to be quite cosmopolitan, with only about a quarter of nights being taken up by English guests, and who would have thought that North America would account for more than other European countries?
