Monsooned Malabar

We have started to use these beans from Waitrose. Firstly because they taste amazing. One of the reviews on the Waitrose website mentions that they are "rich and deep tasting without any bitterness" which just about sums it up as far as we are concerned. But also because of that name. "Monsooned Malabar". Brilliant. I feel as if I am riding an elephant through a forest just thinking about it.

The spiel on the back of the packet isn't bad either: "These cherry coffee beans are grown in South West India and laid out in well ventilated structures to absorb the Monsoon winds that are full of moisture and allow the beans to swell to twice their size for up to 16 weeks and turn a pale golden colour. The beans are then hand sorted for final selection into AA grade." Amazing.
